Boyhood in Richmond, California, undergraduate education, and early career; the work of the West County Toxics Coalition, 1984-present; the national and international context of WCTC's work.
Growing up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; volunteer for VISTA, 1970-1972; becoming active in the Citizens Action League and ACORN; forming West County Toxics Coalition, 1982 and other volunteer work; cleaning up Point Isabel; chaplain with the Richmond Police Dept.; negotiating with Chevron; demonstrating for Jesse Jackson in the South and other action; present condition of the environment in Richmond and cooperating with other environmental groups.
